5 Tips About Google Local Optimization That You Haven’t Heard Before

October 6, 2013 by Blog Editor

If you already have a website on the air and are ready to get the message out to the public, then utilizing google places optimization is clearly the right way to go. Google Local Optimization helps improve your ranking on popular search engines in use today like Google and Yahoo. Your rankings will increase among the normal, unpaid search results unlike some SEM techniques. It is designed around content and HTML that is scanned by various algorithmic robots. These tips will help you impress the robots and your readers.

Google Local Optimization to Improve Your Search Rank

Google Local OptimizationUse the HTML Meta Tag as much as possible to earn good favor with the robots. The Meta Tag is found in the header and contains important data about the data on your page. These tags are unlike the standard title tags which are HTML elements. Instead, these tags are labeled as descriptions of information. The tags provide the robots with information about your page that is used to gauge its relevancy and ranking within their current records. Including powerful keywords inside your tags shows these robots that your page is all about what they want to read.

Use Meta Tags on every page of your website and not just one or two. Every page should have its own tags that include enough keywords to provide a little boost on your campaign. When you include this information on every single page, then every page works towards improving your websites rankings. The most important page to remember is your main home page because the tags and keywords on this page have the most pull.

Your URL is your location on the web and it should be known that your location has what people want to know about. The easiest way to gain this visibility is through the URL address that appears on top of their web browsers. Keywords here are examined by the search engines and have a big impact on your sites rankings. Remember this while designing each subdomain and include a keyword that describes the content or media that the page focuses on.

Ask yourself “what do my readers want to know” and work on providing them with this information. You don’t write for the search engines, you write for the readers and include keywords for the search engines. There is nothing wrong with focusing content on a specific location, such as “clothes New Jersey” even though it is only to help narrow the results from search engines.

Do you know what search engines your readers use and whether they even like Google?

There are other search engines out there and the audience which uses them the most varies depending on the situation. There are engines specifically for searching people and engines specifically for searching locations, etc. Find where your preferred customers tend to frequent and work on climbing their rankings.

Google Local Optimization isn’t going to work itself, it is a tough job with a lot of hours riding on your shoulders. Tips like these should make the job a little easier for you by telling you what you need to know.
